Trust for Africa's Orphans

This project aims to assist widows and orphans in Uganda in securing their rights to their husbands' and fathers' land. It comprises paralegal and advocacy training, awareness raising and information dissemination. (The John Ellerman Foundation awarded an additional 50% to the amount shown here).

World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts The project will develop and deliver training programmes in life skills, 'non-formal education' and entrepreneurship to refugees and displaced girls and young women in four refugee camps in the Republic of Chad. To recruit and train 35 volunteer guide leaders, and increase girls' access to guiding and scouting services and activities.(The John Ellerman Foundation awarded an additional 90.38% to the amount shown here).

Interculturality Commission

An amount of £150,000 has been agreed to commission the Institute of Community Cohesion to set up and operate the Baring Foundation Annual Awards for the promotion of interculturality in action.

Parents with Learning Disabilities

An amount of £160,000 has been agreed for the Norah Fry Research Centre to carry out further work to help improve the situation confronting parents with learning disabilities and their children.
