The Baring Foundation was set up in 1969 to give money to charities and voluntary organisations pursuing charitable purposes. In 39 years we have given over £95 million in grants. Our budget for grant-making in 2008 is £2.7 million.

We have specific grants programmes concerned with strengthening the voluntary sector, the arts and international development. All these programmes are now closed for this year. Click on this link for information about the availability of grant programme guidelines for 2009.

We are also working on special initiatives which include: creating a better deal for parents with learning difficulties, interculturality and climate change.
